THON
Description | 2011 Road To THON Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnhhLhdHde8 http://thon.org/image/tid/148 (photographs from the evening streamed through www.thon.org) I was honored to be one of two Road To THON captains for THON 2011. As a captain, I along with my co-captain, Kiera Boyle, were given the task to plan a 500 guest ceremony for THON's most involved volunteers, families, and donors. The event was designed to commemorate the all the hard work students did to fundraise for the world's largest student run philanthropy. As captains, our duties included choosing and reserving a venue, which we chose The Penn Stater. Creating and designing a guest list, as well as, an official invitation and recording RSVPs. Choosing a drink and food menu, as well as, flower arrangements, centerpieces, guest speakers, awards and recognitions and a structured introduction video with highlights through events in the year.
2010 Pre-THON Show and 100 Days 'til THON http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyVgRUXN-AQ My co-captain and I were asked and put to the challenge to create a 30 minute Pre-THON show before the countdown to the 46 hour dance marathon. Our mission was to make it as exciting, motivating, and meaningful so that the dancers would be stoked to begin the 46 hour hiatus. We pinned down our host, former Penn Stater and Survivor Alum, Ian Rosenberger. Student performance groups such as hip hop dance teams, fraternity step teams, and singing groups entertained the packed Bryce Jordan Center. Sticking to our theme, we created an introduction video, "Welcome to THON", where is showed numerous people on Penn State's Campus wishing the dancers goodluck. The Pre-THON was successful and did the start of the 46 hour dance marathon justice. This was one of the most rewarding and electric projects I was able to help coordinate. I have goosebumps thinking of it!
